Xfm not launching in Ireland despite xfm.ie domain registration, says Global
Global Radio’s Xfm is not launching in Ireland, despite Communicorp registering an xfm.ie domain name.
The move by Communicorp came after the company cut nearly 20 jobs at Dublin rock-station Phantom 105.2 - of which it is a major shareholder, fueling rumours that it could be re-branded as Xfm, perhaps in a licensing deal between the two companies.
Communicorp is about to franchise the Capital FM, Smooth Radio and Heart radio brands from Global Radio in the UK.
