Editorial: London calling...

By the time you read this, I should be in Los Angeles. Yes, hark at me etc. But I won’t be there just for the weather and the myriad opportunities for running into Hollywood celebrities at burrito stands, I’ll be there for MUSEXPO.

MUSEXPO, as many of you will know from having attended in the 12 years it’s been running in LA, is a brilliant event, bringing music leaders and tastemakers together in one of the few conferences that you walk away from having a) learned something hugely valuable for your business and b) had an amazing time.

That’s why everyone at Music Week is so excited about teaming up with A&R Worldwide, who put the LA event together, for MUSEXPO Europe, which is coming to London in September (full details are in our P1 story).

We can’t guarantee you sunshine, or hungry Hollywood starlets, but we’ll be working hard to make sure we bring you the other great things about the MUSEXPO LA experience, with the special UK twist you’d expect from Britain’s leading music biz publication.

We’ll be announcing news about the conference programme over the coming weeks and we hope we’ll see as many of you there as possible, whether on stage sharing your knowledge, in the audience soaking up the wisdom of others or down the front at the networking events and showcase gigs that – as in Los Angeles – will form such an intrinsic part of the event.

Stay tuned to Music Week and our website for more news. But right now, I’ve got to dash – I think I can see Winona Ryder about to order an enchilada…
