Bucks announces sponsorship deal with Floor Sixx Music

Bucks Music Group has revealed details of a new sponsorship deal for Floor Sixx Music Publishing, the company run by BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ Sian Anderson and Jason Black (aka J2K and co-founder of Crep Protect).

Floor Sixx celebrates underground music across a range of genres by releasing exclusive singles on its own channels across digital platforms Deezer (an early supporter of the venture), Vevo, iTunes and Spotify.

The company is focusing on grime and afrobeat during 2017, with an exclusive new track being released each month, accompanied by its own music video.

The proceeds of each track will go to the Floor Sixx Music Academy, a 10-week mentoring programme in association with Louder Than Words, Platform and Red Bull Music, that will help artists and the next generation of industry executives to further their careers.

Under the new deal, Bucks Music Group will handle worldwide administration, business affairs, sync and licensing for Floor Sixx Music Publishing, as well as publishing all tracks on an upcoming Floor Sixx compilation.

It will also fund signings, the first of which is an exclusive publishing deal with London MC Capo Lee who recently released his Stop Talk EP with producer Sir Spyro and has worked with MCs Frisco, D Double E and P Money. Within the last year, the Tottenham-raised artist has had support from DJs across BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, Kiss and Capital Xtra as well as press features in Interview, Wonderland and Complex UK.

Capo Lee’s current single, Gyal From Brum, was chosen as DJ Target’s Record of the Week on 1Xtra, and garnered over 100,000 views on SBTV in its first week. Capo Lee is currently working on records with Mumdance and DJ Q, and features on upcoming Saf One EP, The Link Up.

Sian Anderson said: “Super excited to be teaming up with Bucks on Floor Sixx Music Publishing. For years I’ve known Harri and Sarah at Bucks to be real lovers of music of all genres and key figures in regards to nurturing artists as well as delivering successfully as publishers. This is a huge move for us, Bucks really see our vision and we’re all really excited about having Capo Lee as our first project, he’s a brilliant artist.”

Harri Davies, Bucks A&R manager said: "From the very beginning we have loved and shared Sian and Jason’s unique vision for the Floor Sixx brand. We are very happy to be working together with them as creatives and the next wave of talent they are bringing through the Floor Sixx platform.”
