Jet sign worldwide deal with BMG

Australian rock band Jet have signed a worldwide music publishing deal with BMG.

The deal includes global rights to the band’s biggest hits, including Are You Gonna Be My Girl, Cold Hard Bitch, Look What You’ve Done, Rollover DJ, Get Me Outta Here, Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is, Rip It Up, She’s A Genius and Seventeen.

Jet, who formed in 2001, have sold in excess of 6.5m albums worldwide. Their breakthrough debut album Get Born achieved nine-times Platinum status in Australia and Platinum status in the US and UK.

2006 follow-up Shine On was certified Platinum in Australia and Gold in the US, while third album Shaka Rock was released in 2009 and certified Gold in Australia.

The band will open five dates on Bruce Springsteen’s Summer 2017 Australian tour and will play headline dates at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo in February.

BMG Australia managing director Heath Johns said: “Jet have created some of the most iconic Australian songs of all time and it is a true honor for BMG to both protect and build this undeniable legacy. On a personal level it is a huge thrill to have our new Australian company bring such an internationally relevant catalog to the incredible global BMG team.”

The band said in a statement: “We’re really happy to have struck a worldwide deal with BMG. Heath Johns backed us before we released our first album so it also feels great to be working with him again.”
