Robin Godfrey-Cass takes on new consultancy role with Universal Music Publishing Group

Renowned publisher Robin Godfrey-Cass has taken on a new consultancy role with Universal Music Publishing Group, in which he will target legacy signings for the company.

Godfrey-Cass has been based in the US for 15 years but will return to London at the start of June to take up the creative and business consultancy role with UMPG. He will report to Universal’s Santa Monica office and retain his other publishing and management interests as well as a US infrastructure.

“It’s the perfect partnership,” Godfrey-Cass told Music Week. “UMPG have a great creative platform. And I have so many contacts, I can bring in a number of clients who know and trust me and who understand I have experience in the UK and the US, and that is very compelling. I think it’s going to be a really lucrative business.”

During his career, Godfrey-Cass oversaw the signing of acts including Eric Clapton, Howard Jones, Bush, Radiohead and EMF.

UMPG COO Marc Cimino told Music Week: “We are pleased to add Robin to our worldwide network of creative consultants and that Robin, with his extensive publishing experience, recognises the unique value that UMPG can bring to his partners.”
