Sony acquires Michael Jackson's share in Sony/ATV
Sony will become the sole owner of Michael Jackson’s music publishing catalogue ATV after reaching a $750 million agreement with the artist's estate.
The deal comes in the form of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Sony Corporation of America and the Estate of Michael Jackson which will see Sony obtain full ownership of Sony/ATV Music Publishing by acquiring the 50% interest in Sony/ATV held by the estate.
