Sony BMG UK has appointed former Vodafone director of content Graeme Ferguson to the newly-created role of SVP digital and strategic partnerships. Ferguson will start in September and will focus on increasing digital market share and driving revenue growth through innovative digital and brand partnerships.
During his five years at Vodafone, Ferguson led the launch of the live! portal across 26 markets and secured rights to the UEFA Champions League across 17 markets and to the FA Premier League in the UK and Ireland.
Prior to that, he launched Worldzap, a mobile content start-up, and spent a number of years at NBC, CNBC and Dow Jones in Europe and Asia.
Ferguson says, “I'm excited to be joining such a forward looking organisation at such a challenging and interesting time."
Sony BMG UK chairman Ged Doherty adds, "We are determined to give music fans more and more ways to interact with our music. Graeme' s understanding of brands and digital content will be invaluable to us in achieving that goal. I am delighted that he is joining our company."
