Chrysalis receives approaches
09:34 | Thursday September 18, 2008
Chrysalis Group has received “very tentative approaches”, which could lead to a takeover offer for the publishing group.
In a statement the company said, “Such discussions are at a very preliminary stage, and there can be no certainty that any offer or transaction will be made, nor the terms on which any offer or transaction would be made.”
The approaches were from a number of parties. The move is the latest in a long running saga of offers and talks, which has seen the group open up discussions with a number of parties thought to include EMI and Warner Chappell. However, those negotiations were ended in April because the offers were said to “undervalue” the company and only last month chairman Chris Wright told Music Week that he was focusing on acquiring catalogue.
Earlier this month Chrysalsis signed a deal with Corporate Creative Licensing.
