Mama buys Heaven
12:12 | Tuesday September 23, 2008
Mama Group has acquired Heaven Nightclub and plans to host the G-A-Y club nights at the 1,600-capacity venue.
The famous central London venue has hosted club nights and live music since opening in 1979 and has seen performances from Grace Jones to Cher.
The G-A-Y club nights, which were previously held at the London Astoria, have featured many artists such as Kylie Minogue, Madonna, Boyzone and the Sugababes.
Adam Driscoll co-chief executive officer of Mama, which owns the Barfly group of companies, say Heaven is a historical venue which has been at the heart of the London nightclub scene for almost thirty years.
He adds, “It has a phenomenal reputation, not just in London, but internationally and we are delighted that the acquisition of Heaven has enabled us to add this unique venue to our expanding live music portfolio. The transfer of the G-A-Y club nights to Heaven together with other popular club nights currently staged at the venue will ensure the continued growth and development of Heaven."
