Bandsintown.com comeback
17:27 | Thursday August 13, 2009
Bandsintown.com is relaunching with a plethora of new features.
The site, which aims to help music fans discover live music locally, has expanded its operation with personalized recommendations, upcoming concert notifications, access to obscure concert tickets and an iPhone app.
Users of Bandsintown.com can now track artists, venues and the concert activity of friends, receiving updates on upcoming shows as soon as they are announced.
Working with Twitter, real-time streams automatically capture all of the tweets during local shows of favourite artists so users can still "experience" the concert whether they were there or not.
As part of this move is Bandsintown’s free iPhone app. By scanning the users’ iTunes library and tracking their phone position by GPS, it sends concert notifications and recommendations to them.
Working with ticket providers in 140 countries Bandsintown has the largest database of upcoming concerts in the world.
