Copyright Tribunal rules on VPL rates

CSC, which broadcasts music TV channels including Chart Show TV, The Vault and NME TV, argued that the licensing regime operated by VPL was "unfair and unreasonable", with VPL's proposed royalty of 20% of gross revenue "unreasonably high".

The Tribunal ruled that the royalty rate should be reduced to 12.5% of gross revenue - CSC had argued for 8% - while VPL will also have to make further changes to its licence terms.
