We7 signs FanShake deal

We 7 has agreed a deal with online music fan platform FanShake that will allow all its UK-based users to listen to the 10 most popular tracks of each artist featured on the site.
Meanwhile, global visitors to the site will be able to listen to 30-second clips of each song. Users can then purchase music via a We7 widget.
FanShake is an online resource which aims to bring music fans together and reward them for their dedication to artists. It offers news about artists such as tour dates, with fans able to win gifts such as concert tickets for promoting acts. Fans can also petitions acts to play their local town.
FanShake says that providing direct, quick and free access to artist’s music is a significant addition to its service.
We7 senior vice president of digital music Clive Gardiner adds, “Building on the work we have done with music labels, this partnership offers another fantastic means to deliver music straight into the arms of the fans that love and support it, totally free of charge. We7 was founded by people who are passionate about music with a desire to make music accessible to others with that passion so this partnership with FanShake is a natural extension.”
Meanwhile, We7 has also signed a deal with the state51 Conspiracy digital distribution to give its users access to music from more than 120 independent labels, including Far Out Recordings, NRK, Big Love, Jalapeno and R& S Records.
