The retail organisation's Annual Yearbook, published today, reveals that music sales were worth £1.314bn in 2009, down from £1.324bn in 2008.
By volume, 154.8m units (including music video) were sold in 2009, compared to 155.7m in 2008.
The results come despite the closures of Woolworths and Zavvi at the start of 2009, poor economic conditions and intense price pressure on music.
