The action was taken by the labels as the Playlist.com site let users create widgets of streaming playlists from both authorised and unauthorised sources around the web. These could then be embedded on sites like Facebook and MySpace.
Financial terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
It has been reported that Universal has subsequently struck a licensing agreement with the service. It is currently unclear if Warner will license its content to Playlist.com.
