Jammie Thomas set for third trial

She was accused of downloading and sharing 24 tracks on Kazaa in 2005. Her first trial began in 2007 and she was found to be guilty of willful copyright infringement and ordered to pay statutory damages of $222k (?140k).

A retrial happened in 2009 and she was ordered to pay $1.92m (?1.21m) in damages to the RIAA. A judge reduced the fine to $54k (?34k) and the RIAA then offered a settlement of $25k (?16k) but Thomas and her lawyers ...
