Study links heavy metal music and mental illness

The study says that 'heavy metal music has negative impacts on youth' and that 'young people at risk of depression are more likely to listen habitually and repetitively to heavy metal music'.

Music Therapy lecturer Dr Katrina McFerran studied the results of in-depth interviews with 15 participants aged 13 to 18 along with those of a national survey of 1000 young people.
