BMG Music Publishing UK announces today the promotion of Paul Curran from managing director UK and Ireland to group managing director, and the promotion of Caroline Elleray from A&R manager to head of A&R.
Curran, who is based in London and has worked for BMG for 15 years, will report directly to BMG Music Publishing Worldwide chairman, Nicholas Firth who is based in New York.
As group managing director, Curran will continue to oversee BMG's music publishing operations in the UK, and also assumes reponsibility for Zomba Music Publishing UK and the combined BMG/Zomba Production Music UK's division.
Zomba Music Publishing UK and BMG/Zomba Production Music UK continue to be independently managed, with their respective heads Steven Howard and Steve Cole reporting to Paul.
Caroline Elleray has been named as BMG Publishing UK new head of A&R. A history in management and working as an A&R consultant for BMG for the last five years, she will report to general manager Ian Ramage and split her time between London and Manchester.
Recently responsible for signing Coldplay and Keane, Caroline has a long history of working with seminal UK acts including The Stone Roses and the Happy Mondays.
Displaying her delight at being offered the position, she says, "It's not about positions and titles. It has to be said, it's about the music and the bands. It's great, especially being a lass based up north, I'm in the privileged position where I can start to make a real difference."
Starting off in her new role, Elleray has already signed two acts, Grand Transmitter who will play In The City on Saturday and Letrix, a duo based in Newcastle.
