Frank Turner: Reasons Not To Be An Idiot (Xtra Mile Recordings)

17:13 | Thursday December 11, 2008

Frank Turner turns out another ‘strings and sarcasm’ hit from his Love Ire & Song album (released last Spring).

This track sticks to the triumphant Turner formula of savvy verses and a catchy melodic chorus underpinned by simple acoustic guitar. And, although it's a bit more rock than his previous ballads, it still retains his trademark sarcastic, beatnik tone.

Unfortunately Reasons Not To Be An Idiot doesn’t have the personal edge of previous single Long Live the Queen and its “pull yourself together” ethos is rather tired yet still carries the potential to do well with his loyal fan base.

Turner will embark on a European tour with Gaslight Anthem in the new year to support the release.

Lifted from parent album Love Ire & Song released March 31 2008.
