FAC goes to Devon
11:09 | Wednesday March 17, 2010
Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien and singer/songwriter Billy Bragg will be in Devon later this month when the Featured Artists Coalition hooks up with University College Falmouth for a day long event examining how the industry can adopt new models in the face of continued filesharing.
UCF and the FAC, which campaigns for the protection of performers’ and musicians’ rights, are hosting a day long event to examine the issues and O’ Brien and Bragg will be joined by fellow FAC members Howard Jones and Lucy Pullin. The FAC’s acting CEO, Jeremy Silver, We7 senior vp Clive Gardiner, Wingnut Music Consultancy CEO Erik Nielson and PPL performer account manager Daniel Millington will also offer advice to musicians on how to promote themselves, sell their music and protect their rights.
UCF’s Music Business Fellow Rick Rogers says this is also the first of many events that UCF will be hosting to encourage musicians to seize the many new opportunities that exist. “We are delighted to be working in partnership with the FAC to attract leading industry names and influence the development of the digital economy in the region,” he adds.
The event takes place at UCF’s Dartington Campus from 9.30am on March 26.
Tickets are £10 and can be booked online at http://bit.ly/aDJBGA.
