Liam Gallagher's debut solo album release date announced

Liam Gallagher's debut solo album As You Were has been confirmed for an October 6 release via Warner Bros. Records.

Greg Kurstin performed all of the instruments on the four songs that he produced (Wall Of Glass, Paper Crown, Come Back To Me and It Doesn’t Have To Be That Way), while Dan Grech-Marguerat produced the remainder of the album at Snap! Studios in London.

“I didn’t want to be reinventing anything or going off on a space jazz odyssey,” said Gallagher. “It’s the Lennon Cold Turkey vibe, The Stones, the classics. But done my way, now.”

Gallagher is due to perform on the Other Stage at Glastonbury tomorrow (June 24), in addition to Reading & Leeds festivals in August.

The album’s cover features a new portrait of the former Oasis frontman, taken by photographer, fashion designer and creative director Hedi Slimane.
