Stormzy, Wretch 32, Rag'N'Bone Man and Dizzee Rascal lead this year's Urban Music Awards nominations

Stormzy, Dizzee Rascal, Rag'N'Bone Man and Wretch 32 lead this year’s nominations for the Urban Music Awards with four nods each.

The trio will go head-to-head in the Best Album category, while Dizzee and Stormzy are both up for Best Music Video.

Dizzee and Wretch 32 have also both been given nods for Best Single and Best Male Act while Wretch 32 will face fellow Brits Giggs, AJ Tracey, Fekky and Dave in the Best Hip Hop Act category.

Stormzy is also up for Best Grime Act and will also face Ed Sheeran, Zayn, Lethal Bizzle, Rag'N'Bone Man and Rita Ora in the Artist of the Year UK list of nominees.

Rag'N'Bone Man is also nominated for Best Newcomer, Best Pop Act and Best R&B Act.

The shortlist for the 15th annual Urban Music Awards, which this year will take place in London on November 30, reflects a successful year for British urban music.

Wretch 32 – real name Jermaine Scott Sinclair – said: “Most people don't quite understand how much of an impact the UMA's had on the scene today.

“The truth is without the Urban Music Awards, urban music will not be where it is today. At a time where no other organisation supported UK home grown talent, the UMA's stood strong in support of the talent who are now household names."
