The Beatles top one billion streams in six months

The Beatles have been streamed more than one billion times within the six months since the band’s launch on streaming services worldwide.

The Fab Four made their catalogue available for streaming on Christmas Eve 2015. The Beatles’ Anthology, Volumes 1-3 music collections were also made available on streaming platforms back in April, with their Love album following in June.

Meanwhile, The Beatles’ Apple Corps Ltd. has partnered with Cirque du Soleil to produce a new music video for While My Guitar Gently Weeps (Love Version), which premiered this week on Vevo. The video has been made to coincide with the 10th anniversary of The Beatles Love by Cirque du Soleil at The Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

The video honours the memory of Beatles’ producer Sir George Martin, who died in March aged 90, and George Harrison, the song's writer. Martin’s string arrangement on the song and recording session at Air Studios in 2006 were his final pieces of work in a legendary career that spanned more than five decades.
