Making waves: Amyl And The Sniffers

Under the Making Waves microscope this week are Aussie pub rockers Amyl And The Sniffers, who will hit the UK next month. Get a load of this...

KEY TRACK: Cup Of Destiny
LABEL: Damaged Goods Records
MANAGEMENT: parisi.andrew@gmail.com
FACEBOOK: amylandthesniffers

WHO: Pub-rock urchin group formed by singer Amy Taylor, drummer Bryce Wilson and guitarist Declan Martens. Bassist Gus Romer was recruited later.

WHAT: Straggly, ramshackle, loud and unapologetically crude rock’n’roll. If music had a smell, theirs would pong terribly.

WHERE: Melbourne, Australia. These guys have Aussie ’70s rock oozing from their every pore.

THEY LOOK AMAZING…

They really do. Brilliantly, they sound just as good. Red hot songs such as this year’s Cup Of Destiny have been turning heads in the UK since Amyl And The Sniffers stole the show at Bigsound last year.

ARE THEY COMING HERE?

Big time. The Sniffers are a jewel in the line-up for The Great Escape next month, then there are two London dates to follow. So no excuses.

ANY MUSIC COMING OUT?

There is – the group’s debut UK release will be LP Big Attraction & Giddy Up, due on Damaged Goods on May 18. Don’t miss it.
