WHO: Gently Tender come from the ashes of Palma Violets. Palmas’ Sam Fryer, Pete Mayhew and Will Doyle team up with guitarist Adam Brown and The Big Moon’s Celia Archer for a psychedelic pop love-in.

WHAT: Ragged but pretty guitar music, informed by influences ranging from The Animals to Spiritualized. Both gentle and tender.

This band arrive tailor-made for pub gigs and rollies. Palma Violets fans may rue their demise, but with singer Chilli Jesson now fronting Crewel Intentions, things are working out.

Yes, and Fryer recently told Beats 1 that Gently Tender’s music is “ambitious and atmospheric”, adding that his vision for the band is “big stages at festivals within two years”.
