LiveNow launches on LG Smart TVs globally

The LiveNow platform has launched on LG Smart TVs globally.

The company won in the Live Music Innovation (Platform) category at the Music Week Awards, following successful pay-per-view concert livestreams including Dua Lipa’s Studio 2054, Ellie Goulding’s Brightest Blue Experience and Gorillaz’s Song Machine Live from Kong.

Using the LiveNow app, customers will be able to access the streaming platform’s programming of live and on-demand premium events. As well as providing access to virtual experiences, LG Smart TVs will enable viewers to watch events interactively with friends, family and other fans around the world who are also using LiveNow to tune in.

Geraldine Pamphile, LiveNow’s global CEO, said: “LiveNow was created to bring fans closer to their favourite music artists, sport and lifestyle content. And we’re delighted to launch LiveNow’s first-ever smart TV app for LG, giving fans across the globe access to watch concerts and live sport from their living rooms.”

"LG is redefining the role of TV with the addition of services that facilitate more personal and interactive experiences at home,” said Jung Sung-hyun, head of content service business at LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company. “By making LiveNow part of that experience we are addressing a more diverse audience, which now has one more reason to enjoy the viewing experience on the big screen at home".

The premium streaming platform has also broadcast live exclusive events with Lizzo, Black Eyed Peas, Maroon 5, and more. The platform has more global music projects in the pipeline with a first-ever monthly K-Pop concert series starting later this month.

On 2017 and later LG Smart TVs, customers can access the LiveNow app and all of its features and content by downloading it in the LG Content Store on their TV.
