Mood Mix introduces interactive in-store playlist feature

By Ewan Wilkie

Mood Media has introduced the new Social Mix feature for Mood Mix Pro, a new music service designed to provide thousands of F500 and SMB restaurant chains, pubs and indie coffee shops with the ability for customers and patrons to interact with in-store playlists.

The feature will allow customers and employees to view the live song lineup for a businesses playlist and then select the songs they want to hear next, the most popular songs then queuing from the top.

Consumers can use their mobile devices to access the live playlists via the businesses Social Mix webpage, without downloading the app or pre-registration.

“Mood Mix Pro and Social Mix are the perfect music solution for our business,” said Corey Matthews, assistant general manager of micro-brew pub, Growler USA, in Austin, TX. “We now have access to an amazing amount of music that we can blend ourselves.  These customized playlists can then be easily scheduled for different days or times to suit my traffic flow. It’s easy to use, and our customers love the Social Mix feature. They get to participate in the music experience and channel their inner DJ.”

“Music can communicate the heart and soul of a brand, but there is no one-size-fits-all solution for businesses,” said David Van Epps, global chief product officer and executive vice president of local sales for Mood Media. “It’s no secret the connected generation is causing profound shifts in the ways retailers and businesses engage with customers. With Mood Mix Pro and Social Mix, Mood offers a total packaged solution to meets the demands of almost any commercial environment, while allowing Mood clients’ easy ways to evolve and meet consumer expectations with greater personalization and choice.”

Mood Mix Pro includes uninterrupted and vetted content, playlist scheduling and mixing, access to Mood’s 350+ professionally curated music programmes, and more flexible scheduling options for song preferences via its hybrid StreamingPlus technology.

“With Mood Mix Pro and Mood Social Mix, we’ve designed a highly reliable streaming platform, to deliver terrific music choices, site level playlist control, turnkey mobile marketing and cutting-edge customer interaction capabilities. Mood’s latest offerings showcase our innovation and consistent track record for delivering industry-leading technology,” said Mood Media’s Van Epps.
