Spotify appoints Marco Bertozzi as VP, Europe/ head of sales

Spotify has appointed Marco Bertozzi as VP, Europe/ head of sales.

Bertozzi will take up the new position, which is London-based, on January 3. He will be overseeing the streaming service’s direct, programmatic and international business across the region.

Spotify’s global head of ad sales, Brian Benedik, commented: We are very excited to be welcoming Marco into the Spotify family in the new year. Marco has a great wealth of expertise and insights gained over many years in the agency world, and we’re looking forward to him bringing his fresh perspective to the European business.”

Marco Bertozzi added: “This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for me to join a company that is working at the intersection of data, tech and incredible content. Spotify is a leader in its space and I am looking forward to joining in the New Year." 

Bertozzi’s career started in television at Zed Media and he joins Spotify from his current position as global chief revenue officer at performance marketing agency Performics.

Earlier this month, Spotify revealed its 2016 charts, with Drake dominating its most played lists. It was also revealed that Apple Music is closing in on Spotify’s global total of 40 million paying subscribers. Apple passed 20m for the first time.
