My Girl was one of the very first songs we recorded the first time we went into Pathway Studios in North London.

Pathway was a cheap studio in the Islington area and the first time we went there Woody [Dan Woodgate, drummer] got lost on his motorbike and we had to call the whole thing off.

Luckily, we were able to do it again and we recorded The Prince, Madness and My Girl.
