Reporting to the Managing Director – Ticketmaster UK, the Business Development Director – Music will be responsible for Ticketmaster’s [‘TM’] business performance within the UK live music events ticketing sector.
You will be responsible for the development of TM’s client relationships with existing clients and potential new partners within this sector, including promoters, venue owners, artist agents, music labels and commercial/media partners.

As the strategic stakeholder for this sector, you will be responsible for optimising the strategic and commercial contribution from these relationships, from both ticket sales and other revenue opportunities.

This is a ‘hands on’ role, requiring a mix of strategic thinking, business acumen, client facing expertise and technical/operational understanding.

The successful candidate will also need to possess a strong understanding of the UK live music events ticketing sector.

Responsibilities

• You will negotiate, track and report on commercial agreements with our Music partners, securing renewal of all existing ticketing agreements and winning new business for TM.

• Develop a strategic approach to the development of TM’s business activities in the UK Music sector.

• Working closely with the VP – Client Services, you will develop and track the level of service delivered to our existing Music clients, ensuring that TM optimises revenue contribution from ticket sales, other revenue streams and the adoption of TM’s wider product suite.

• Develop, implement and drive our client retention programme in the UK live music events ticketing sector.

• You will also be working closely with the TM International Artist Services team and the development of Platinum Tickets/Dynamic Pricing, Paperless, bundling, upsells and other services/products.

• Review the current commercial structure of agreements with existing Music clients and develop an increased level of commercial focus and rationalisation within this sector.

• Represent the TM Music Business at Music events and client presentations, including Music sector industry events and competitive tender processes.

• Deliver regular reporting and presentations to the TM Executive team on the business performance of TM Music clients, including the use of Salesforce for the tracking and reporting on client performance and relevant relationship issues. Develop the processes for the management and reporting of client data.

Requirements

Skills / Knowledge / Experience

• Previous senior management roles, with proven experience in commercial negotiations.

• Extensive experience and deep knowledge of the UK ticketing and/or live music events sector.

• Demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, together with excellent presentation and communication skills.

• Self starter with entrepreneurial drive, with a strong appreciation of business and commercial values.

• Excellent general leadership skills.

• Excellent team player skills, with a proven ability to interact with external and internal clients at all levels.

• Strategic thinker, possessing the ability to thrive, adapt and re-prioritise in a highly dynamic sector and competitive marketplace.
