Do you love music? Have you got industry connections and feel you can harness them, helping sell the benefit of our company to a litany of event promoters in the UK and beyond?

If so we could be looking for you, a Business Development Manager? for one of the UK’s biggest and renowned primary ticketing agencies Skiddle?. You’ll be based in our new office in London but frequently travelling across the country and working from home, alongside occasional weekend work at events.

Trading since 2001 this company sell tickets for tens of thousands of events throughout the UK, from independent club nights through to 60,000 capacity festivals. Skiddle currently sells tickets for the likes of The Warehouse Project, Reading and Leeds Festivals, Live Nation,? and hundreds of independent venues and promoters across the country.

You’ll understand the music climate inside out, either a dance music enthusiast or someone gluttonous for gigs, and be capable of translating that passion into a business benefit. It’s desirable that you’ll come from a similar role in the industry, but not essential. This is a tremendous opportunity for a music professional to continue working in one of the most exciting industries in the modern job climate.

Key responsibilities:

  • Meeting music promoters and convincing them to come on board with one of the most rapidly growing and dynamic businesses in the music industry
  • Spotting new trends in music and helping develop Skiddle’s market share
  • Working side by side with other Skiddle employees to harness the best from the company’s promotional strategies
  • Using contacts to generate new business
  • Attending meetings with clients
  • Attending client events
  • Maintaining the high standard of service expected from Skiddle
  • Adhering to KPIs and performance targets

This is largely a role where you will be spending a lot of time in meetings, visiting clients and working at events. The role is mainly Monday to Friday, however, when a deadline is looming, an event needs attending or a large account needs attention you’ll be expected to put the extra hours in to ensure success. The role is very sociable and involves a fair amount of hospitality and making clients feel valued by the continuing use of Skiddle. Our ideal candidate will have come from a background of working in the ticketing or music industry.

Academic qualifications are valued but not vital, above all you must be able to demonstrate a clear frontline passion for music.
