Copyright and Contracts Executive - Products and Services Department

ABRSM is the UK’s largest music education body, one of its largest music publishers and the world’s leading provider of music exams, offering assessments to more than 630,000 candidates in 93 countries every year. We support the teaching and learning of music, in partnership with the Royal Schools of Music. Our mission is to inspire achievement in music.

ABRSM Publishing is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ABRSM.

We are currently recruiting for a Copyright and Contracts Executive to join the Copyright team within our Products and Services department. One of the main responsibilities of this role is to advise the business on contractual and licensing matters, in order to minimise risks and to protect ABRSM and its assets. The job holder will deal with complex contractual and licensing matters and infringements arising within the company and, when required, liaise with ABRSM’s solicitors. There will also be the requirement to work as a flexible member of the team, carrying out all core Copyright work as required.

We are looking for someone who has solid experience of working in music publishing in copyright and licensing role(s), with particular emphasis on drafting contracts and licences. You will also ideally have a relevant legal qualification e.g. a law degree and legal practice course or paralegal experience.

ABRSM is a friendly company that offers its employees a range of benefits, including an interest-free season ticket loan (after passing a probationary period) and a contributory pension scheme. We are based in contemporary offices with good facilities for staff in a central location in the City of London, which has excellent transport links.
