The National Theatre is central to the creative life of the country. It is dedicated to making the very best theatre and sharing it with as many people as possible. We produce up to 30 productions at our South Bank home each year, ranging from re-imagined classics – such as Greek tragedy and Shakespeare – to modern masterpieces and new work by contemporary writers and theatre-makers.
The National Theatre is always striving to find new ways of storytelling and the Music Department should be at the forefront of progressing, developing and modernising the use of live music and music technology in Theatre.
The National Theatre are looking for a proactive individual with experience in using Sibelius or similar and to be able to assist in the delivery of the department’s operational resources.
It is very much a hands-on role, working with music practitioners, the NT’s instrument collection and technology.
Learning opportunities can be given to ensure your proficiency in all music matters in order to support traditional live music and the use of electronically created music across its many platforms and programmes at the National Theatre.
As well as assisting with physical delivery this post will work closely with the Sound Department to facilitate the integration of music into the rehearsal and performance process.
We encourage applications from all sections of the community and in particular those which are currently under-represented at the NT including BAME & disabled candidates.
