Kevin Weaver promoted at Atlantic Records

Kevin Weaver has been promoted to the newly created post of president, Atlantic Records, West Coast.

Weaver, who has been with Atlantic for over two decades, has led the label’s work in the areas of soundtrack, sync, and visual media. In his newly expanded role, he will provide senior executive leadership on the West Coast.

Prior to this appointment, Weaver was president, film & television and EVP, Atlantic Records Group.

As Atlantic expands its West Coast presence in LA, Weaver will collaborate with all of the company’s departments, overseeing artist development projects and working closely with the talent roster. Atlantic said he will also continue to grow the scope of the company’s content, film, and TV businesses, while originating and overseeing strategic alliances, media placements, licensing opportunities, and marketing initiatives.

“The appointment of Kevin as our first-ever West Coast president reflects both his expanded leadership position and the pivotal role that the city of Los Angeles and our fantastic LA team play in our success,” said Atlantic Records Group chairman/COO Julie Greenwald and chairman/CEO Craig Kallman. “Kevin’s exceptional relationships across the entire entertainment industry extend far beyond the film and TV worlds, and have led to tremendous opportunities to break artists, grow their careers, and broaden their audiences. Having begun his career at Atlantic more than two decades ago, Kevin is a great example of our mission to mentor and groom executive talent within our ranks. He is one of the most accomplished and forward-thinking executives in our business, and is richly deserving of this important appointment, which reinforces our stature as a major force across the country.”

A five-time Grammy nominee, Weaver has produced soundtrack projects including companion albums for Furious 7 and Suicide Squad
