Atlantic Records UK’s newly-appointed general manager Magnus Ribbeklint has said he wants the label to take a “true global” view as it looks to the future.
Ribbeklint, who replaces Parlophone co-president elect Mark Mitchell in the role, was GM of Warner Music Sweden and VP marketing at Warner Music Nordics.
In the latest issue of Music Week he outlines his plans to draw on his decade of experience in Sweden’s streaming-focused music market to build the label’s international success.
Ribbeklint, who starts his new role in January 2018, said: “We need to be very opportunistic and future-focused and have a true global view."
Label president Ben Cook added that Ribbeklint’s experience is “integral” to its future. He said his work at Warner Sweden was a “strong social media footprint” and he is “really adept at using content to bring fans to artists”.
The full interview with Ribbeklint and Cook can be read in this week’s Music Week out now.
