Prize on the rise: BPI's Geoff Taylor hails Mercurys as "powerful" platform for artists

T he BPI’s chief executive Geoff Taylor has told Music Week that the Hyundai Mercury Prize has “bounced back” with a 2017 awards show that offered a “really compelling viewing experience” on TV.

“We stepped up the production values of the show, it ran in a very slick, smooth way and the atmosphere was fantastic,” said Taylor. “We feel like we’re building something.”
