Twitter has partnered with Global to stream this year’s Capital Summertime Ball on Saturday, June 10 at Wembley Stadium.
Fans will be able to watch the show on Twitter alongside Capital TV, with the stream set to kick off in the early evening and run through to the end of the show, featuring artist performances and interviews.
Among the artists performing this year are Bruno Mars, Little Mix (pictured), Shawn Mendes, Maroon 5, Stormzy, Niall Horan, Clean Bandit, Sean Paul, Zara Larsson, Olly Murs, JP Cooper, Louisa Johnson, Rag‘N’Bone Man, Dua Lipa, Charlie Puth, Julia Michaels, James Arthur, Martin Jensen, Jax Jones & Raye, Zedd, Anne-Marie and 5 After Midnight.
The broadcast is a result of Vodafone’s headline partnership with Capital’s Summertime Ball, with Global, Twitter and Vodafone working together as part of a Twitter Amplify deal on @capitalofficial, with media planned by MEC UK.
Ashley Tabor, founder and executive president of Global, said: “Capital’s Summertime Ball is one of the biggest music events of the year, so it’s fitting that Twitter is partnering with Global to bring the event to millions of hit music fans across the UK. This is a fantastic way for us to share all the action from Wembley so that even more people than ever before can join the party.”
Will Hardy, music lead, Twitter UK, added: “Twitter is the home of the real time music conversation. You only have to look at the fact that seven of the 10 most followed people globally are artists, to see how influential the music community is on Twitter. We're delighted to be partnering with Global to stream Capital’s Summertime Ball with Vodafone to the millions of dedicated fans not in attendance at Wembley.”
Meanwhile, Caroline Welsh, head of marketing communications at Vodafone UK, commented: “The partnership with Twitter will allow us to share Capital’s Summertime Ball with people right across the UK thanks to the power of our even bigger and better 4G network. Our long-term partnership with Global allows us to find new ways for our customers to be at the heart of everything we do, and what better way to use our network than to take the UK’s biggest summer party to our customers on Twitter.”
The stream will be available to all UK Twitter users, and will be discoverable through @CapitalOfficial and CapitalSTB.twitter.com.
