Music Week appoints new deputy editor George Garner

Music Week has appointed George Garner as its new deputy editor.

Garner is an experienced music journalist, having occupied a number of high profile editorial roles at Kerrang! magazine - most recently as deputy editor. After joining the title as a freelance writer in 2008, he went on to become listings editor in 2010, reviews editor in 2011 and features editor in 2013, before being promoted to deputy editor in January 2014.

In this role, Garner supervised the day-to-day running of both the magazine and website, and also worked closely with Kerrang! TV and Kerrang! Radio.

“George’s experience and versatility will be a major asset, for the Music Week team,” commented Music Week editor Mark Sutherland. “His industry expertise will be invaluable across both our print edition and our digital offering.”

Garner has also had his work published in both Mojo and Q magazine. He joins Music Week on Monday, February 6.
