Shazam’s automatic music tagging feature Auto Shazam has reportedly reached a daily user number of 170,000 since launching on iPhone in December.
The service – which runs in the background on the device, identifying any songs, TV shows or advertisements that it can recognise, and storing them for later reference - was initially introduced for its iPad app last May.
