German composers, lyricists and music publishers call for bigger share of streaming revenues

Publishers and music authors in Germany have issued a joint letter demanding a larger share of the revenues earned from streaming services.

The appeal from the associations of composers (DKV), lyricists (DTV) and music publishers (DMV) calls for a 50% share of revenues from labels.

Speaking to Billboard, Dr. Rolf Budde, president of the German Music Publishers' Association (DMV) called the current distribution of revenue “absolutely disproportionate,” and “unfair”.
