Global Group executive Richard Park's near 50-year broadcasting career was recognised at this year's Sony Radio Academy Awards as he received the prestigious Gold Award.
Park, who started on the pirate radio ships in the Sixties and is now Global's director of broadcasting and executive director, picked up the night's top award on Monday from fellow Scot and award-winning golfer Colin Montgomorie. Previous winners of the prize include John Peel, John Humphreys and Sir Terry Wogan.
