Government U-turn on secondary ticketing regulation

Secondary ticketing sellers are set to be regulated more closely under new legislation passed by the House of Lords last night.

As part of the new amendment to the Consumer Rights Bill, resellers on sites such as Viagogo, GetMeIn, Seatwave and StubHub will be required to provide details such as the face value of the ticket, the seat number and any applicable restrictions. Sites who do not disclose knowledge of criminal activity could also face fines of up to £5,000.
