Sir Robin Miller is to take over from Eric Nicoli as non-executive chairman of the HMV Group, in a move which was confirmed this morning. The appointment will become effective from February 2, next year.

Miller, 62, is a former chief executive and non-executive chairman of Emap plc, overseeing the company at a time when it grew from being a predominantly local newspaper business into an international media company with market capitalisation of around £2bn.
