Big names join Jay Z to operate 'artist owned' Tidal

Jay Z's newly acquired streaming service, Tidal, is co-owned by around 15 artists including Alicia Keys, Madonna, Kanye West, Beyonce, Daft Punk, Rihanna and Calvin Harris.

The news was announced yesterday during a press conference in New York for the platform's relaunch, which was described as "the first ever artist owned global music and entertainment platform".

Others involved include Win Butler and Regine Chassagne from Arcade Fire, Chris Martin, Deadmau5, Jack White, Jason Aldean, J Cole, Nicki Minaj and Usher.
