Jay-Z album downloads via $20m Samsung deal not chart eligible

The 1million free copies of Jay-Z's forthcoming album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, to be given away as part of his deal with Samsung, reportedly worth $20million, will not be chart eligible in the UK.

As per usual Official Charts Company rules, free downloads - on this occasion granted to 1million Samsung Galaxy users that download the related app to get Magna Carta Holy Grail - will not count towards the record's chart placing.
