MTV Networks unveiled plans today to launch a new, and ninth music channel. VH2 will be dedicated to guitar-based music, and unlike its counterpart MTV2, will not seek to break new acts, but will provide a constant output of music by established acts such as Coldplay, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Travis.

VH2 will launch in the UK on December 16. Current plans for the new channel include a Sunday night slot called 'This Is Americana' in association with Virgin's Captain ...
