The xx album named best-selling vinyl of 2012, format's sales increase YoY by 15.3%
The best-selling vinyl album of 2012 was The xx's Coexist and, according to Official Charts Company figures, sales for the retro format increased by 15.3% over 2011’s sales of 337,000.
Vinyl sales have now grown for the fifth successive year with a total of 389,000 LPs sold during 2012.
Claiming second spot on the top sellers was the 2012 re-release of The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars by David Bowie.
