Warner/Chappell's Mike Smith: Liam Gallagher deal is a "real statement"

Ben Homewood

Warner/Chappell managing director Mike Smith has told Music Week the company’s plan to bring new signing Liam Gallagher “back to the forefront of popular music” in 2017.

The former Oasis frontman will release his debut solo album through Warner Bros Music next year, although a fixed release date for the record has yet to be announced.

Gallagher’s agreement with Warner/Chappell was announced at the company’s annual Global A&R Conference, which took place at its Kensington offices in London last week.
