Biffy Clyro's Ellipsis outselling Top 5 albums combined

Biffy Clyro’s new album Ellipsis is currently outselling the rest of the Top 5 combined, as it looks on course to take the top spot on this week's official albums chart.

The Scottish rock outfit sits atop the midweek chart with Adele’s 25 sat in second place. Rick Astley’s 50, Coldplay’s A Head Full Of Dreams and ELO’s All Over The World occupy No.3, No. 4 and No. 5 respectively.

Biffy scored their first No. 1 album in 2013 with their last record Opposites, having previously hit the Top 5 with 2007's Puzzle (No. 2) and 2009's Only Revolutions (No. 3).

The Top 10 sees another two new entries in the form of Avalanches long-awaited comeback album Wildflower (No.6) and Aphex Twin’s Cheetah (No. 8).
