Coldplay and Adele among nominations for BBC Music Awards Song Of The Year

Coldplay, Justin Timberlake and Adele are among the nominations in the Song Of The Year Category at the BBC Music Awards 2016.

The public will be able to vote for the award between 7am-8pm today (December 7), with the winner to be announced at the ceremony at London’s Excel on December 12. Votes can be submitted via text message or via bbc.co.uk/music.

Compiled by the PPL, the 10 shortlisted songs - also including hits by Justin Bieber, Alessia Cara and DNCE - are those which have received the most airplay across the BBC’s pop radio networks over the last 12 months.

Bob Shennan, director of BBC radio and music, said: “The BBC's pop music radio networks are integral to the success of artists across the music industry. This shortlist features some of this year’s biggest hits, so now it’s up to the great British public to decide who should win the coveted Song Of The Year award.”

The full list is as follows:

Adele – Hello
Alessia Cara – Here
Coldplay – Hymn For The Weekend
DNCE – Cake By The Ocean
Drake ft. Kyla and Wizkid – One Dance
Justin Bieber – Sorry
Justin Timberlake – Can’t Stop the Feeling!
Lukas Graham – 7 Years
Naughty Boy ft. Beyoncé, Arrow Benjamin - Runnin' (Lose It All)
Rihanna ft. Drake - Work

Hosted by Fearne Cotton and Claudia Winkleman, the BBC Music Awards will be broadcast live on BBC One. The 1975, Robbie Williams, Emeli Sandé and Zara Larsson are among the artists scheduled to perform on the night.
