Rag'N'Bone Man outselling midweek Top 20 combined

Rag’N’Bone is outselling the entire Top 20 combined in the midweek albums chart, according to the Official Charts Company.

The UK star’s debut album Human is at currently at No.1 on the albums chart on sales of 70,421, a whopping 61,677 sales ahead of Thunder’s new record Rip It Up at No.2 and 61,741 ahead of last week’s No.1 Little Fictions by Elbow.

Sales of Human were boosted by some high profile TV appearances over the weekend, with the artist performing on the Graham Norton Show on BBC One and Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch.

Last month, a senior Sony executive predicted that Rag’N’Bone Man’s debut album, Human, will be one of the strongest sellers of 2017, after the artist scooped the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award at the end of 2016 – the award will be presented to him at the 2017 BRIT Awards ceremony on February 22.

Rob Clark, senior TV promotions manager at the major, told Music Week he believes that: “When you see the live show and hear the songs he’s got, it definitely looks like an album that’ll still have a strong position in the run up to Christmas and this time next year.”

Last week, Rag’N’Bone Man was unveiled as Vevo’s first Lift act of 2017, in which the video streaming platform celebrates new talent by providing exclusive and extensive content around the artist.

He also kicks off the annual BRITs Week with War Child gig series tonight at Clapham Grand. The shows aim to offer music fans the chance to see some of the biggest names in biz in intimate venues across London, while raising money for children whose lives have been affected by war.
